Learning Vocabulary
with the help of Cats

Watch this video of Wash and Grimlock helping me show you some vocabulary for animals.

You might watch this video and think, "I don't need these words. I don't have a cat!"

But wait! There are more uses for these words!

Whiskers are the long hairs on a cat's face. Many mammals have these.

You can see whiskers on a squirrel

and on an otter.

Sometimes we call a man's mustache and beard whiskers.

Any animal with two long front teeth has fangs.

Dragons have fangs

and so do raccoons.

Any long nails can be called claws.

An eagle has claws.

Crabs and crawfish have two big claws.

If a woman has long fingernails, we can call these claws.

All mammals have fur.

This cute little puppy has fur.

My cat, Grimlock, is holding this Cheshire stuffed animal with pink fur.

Some people wear fake fur coats.

The other words in the video can be used in other situations.

- People lick ice cream cones.

- People scratch and itch on their arm.

- People have allergies to dust, milk, flowers, and many other things.

- People don't usually purr, but a car that has a really strong, good sounding engine, purrs.
